Indian tourists continue to lead Sri Lanka’s arrival numbers

According to the latest data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), a total of 34,046 tourists have arrived in the country so far in October.

India continues to dominate Sri Lanka’s tourist arrivals, with 10,738 visitors accounting for 31.5% of total arrivals. China followed with 3,684 tourists, while 2,200 visitors came from the United Kingdom, 1,988 from Germany, and 1,577 from Bangladesh.

The SLTDA also reported that total tourist arrivals for 2025 have reached 1,759,540 with the inclusion of October’s figures. Of this number, India remains the top source market with 386,030 visitors, followed by the United Kingdom with 164,093 and Russia with 123,414.
