A video circulating on social media shows a person attacking Indian politician Ri Rakibul Hussain with a cricket bat.
Hussain, a Congress Member of Parliament, was assaulted by a group of masked individuals.
The attack took place yesterday in Assam’s Nagaon district after he attended a party meeting.
The videos also show the assailants chasing the MP and attempting to seize a security officer’s weapon after the attack.
India’s security forces reported that several people sustained minor injuries, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
