
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Sri Lanka in April, with reports indicating the trip could take place around 5th of April .
According to Indian media outlet WION, the visit is still being finalized.
PM Modi’s trip is expected to focus on strengthening connectivity and economic ties between the two nations.
The invitation for the visit was extended by Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake during his visit to India in December 2024, his first overseas trip after taking office in September 2024.
This will not be Modi’s first visit to Sri Lanka. He has previously traveled to the island nation multiple times, including in 2015, 2017, and 2019, during his earlier terms as Prime Minister.
