An Indian-origin family of four is facing the difficult task of rebuilding their lives after a devastating house fire destroyed their home in Walkley Heights, Adelaide.

Ankur Jandial, his wife Nancy and their two children escaped safely after the fire engulfed their home on August 5. Dozens of firefighters responded to the blaze and worked to stop it spreading to nearby properties.

Although the family is insured, their home has been destroyed and will need to be demolished and rebuilt. Many of their belongings were also lost.

Friends and colleagues have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help the family with immediate costs, including temporary accommodation, clothing, food and household essentials while they wait for the insurance and rebuilding process.

The family’s immediate priority is finding stability as they begin the long process of rebuilding their home and lives.
