The ferry service between Nagapattinam in India and Kankesanthurai in Sri Lanka resumed on Saturday after more than two months, according to Indian media reports.
India’s Daily Thanthi stated that the ship departed from Nagapattinam port with 83 passengers on board, and the service will operate six days a week, excluding Tuesdays.
The ferry service had been temporarily suspended since 18th of November 2024, due to unfavorable weather conditions.
Passengers are allowed to carry 10 kg of luggage, with additional charges applicable for exceeding the permitted weight, the report added.
