
A meeting was held in New Delhi between Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva, who led a Sri Lankan delegation, and India’s Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations, identifying new avenues for economic growth, and enhancing social welfare cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Minister Jaishankar reaffirmed India’s continued support for Sri Lanka, recalling the assistance provided during the recent economic crisis and in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah. He emphasized that India remains committed to being a trusted and reliable partner to Sri Lanka.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Jaishankar described the engagement as a warm and constructive interaction, noting that India has stood by Sri Lanka during difficult times and will continue to extend its support in the future.
