India pledges full support for Sri Lanka’s sports development

India has pledged unwavering support for the advancement of sports in Sri Lanka, according to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

This commitment was made during a meeting between Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha and Sri Lanka’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage.

High Commissioner Jha assured that India would assist in developing sports initiatives across Sri Lanka, with a special focus on cricket and other sports.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the realm of youth affairs.

As part of the ongoing collaboration, High Commissioner Jha invited Minister Gamage to visit India’s Youth Affairs Division to explore further opportunities for partnership.

The meeting also included Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs Eranga Gunasekara and Deputy Minister of Sports Sugath Thilakaratne.
