India and Australia have announced a major boost to their space partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Australia.

The two countries unveiled new joint space projects worth A$18 million, aimed at advancing satellite technology, research and innovation.

The collaboration is expected to create new jobs while strengthening both nations’ growing commercial space industries.

Australia also commissioned a new tracking terminal to support India’s historic Gaganyaan human spaceflight program.

The agreements build on wider cooperation in technology, critical minerals, clean energy and defence announced during the leaders’ summit.

Both governments say the partnership marks a significant step toward making India and Australia leading innovation partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
