Families and individuals relying on social services will receive a small increase in their payments starting 1st of July.
Centrelink payments for 2.4 million Australians will rise by 2.4 percent from 1st of July.
The payment increase will affect JobSeeker, Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY Living Allowance, Parenting Payment, Special Benefit, and various pension income and asset thresholds.
Family Tax Benefits will also see changes, including increased rates and thresholds.
The maximum Family Tax Benefit Part A payment will increase to $227 per fortnight for children under 13 and $295.82 per fortnight for those over 13.
Paid parental leave annual income limits will rise, with the individual limit increasing to $180,007 and the combined family limit to $373,094.
These adjustments reflect indexation changes aligned with the broader economy to help families manage rising living costs.
Minister for Social Services Tanya Plibersek said, “From 1 July, millions of recipients of social security payments will see more money in their bank accounts.”
The Family Tax Benefit is an important support for many Australian families to help cover the costs of raising children.
