The Department of Home Affairs has issued a special notice to visa applicants, highlighting strict new restrictions on applying for a Student Visa after arriving in Australia on a Visitor Visa.
These amendments came into effect on 1st of July of last year.
The department has also cautioned individuals to be wary of advice suggesting otherwise.
Foreign students wishing to study in Australia should apply for a student visa from their home country.
It further clarified that Visitor Visas are only intended for visiting Australia.
