The Department of Immigration and Emigration has issued a notice to Sri Lankans interested in applying for a New Zealand visa, highlighting a newly introduced simplified process.
New Zealand Immigration has announced an updated Qualification Exempt List, effective from the 23rd, for applicants from nine eligible countries, including Sri Lanka, to apply for Working Visas more easily.
Under the new system, if an applicant’s qualifications are listed by their Education Provider, they may be exempt from obtaining an International Qualification Assessment when applying under the Skilled Migrant category or for certain Special Work Visas.
This exemption also plays a key role in determining the number of points an applicant can claim based on their qualification level under the Skilled Migrant points-based system.
In addition to Sri Lanka, the other qualifying countries are France, Germany, India, Italy, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, and Switzerland.
