
The Director General of the Department of Fiscal Policy, Kapila Senanayake, announced that Sri Lanka has received a total of US$1.74 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) so far.
He explained that the IMF credit facility requested by Sri Lanka is structured to be disbursed in nine tranches.
Of these nine tranches, five have already been released to the country.
The most recent disbursement, the fifth tranche, amounted to US$350 million and was received on 3rd of July.
Senanayake made these comments during a press conference at the Department of Government Information, where he discussed the progress of the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.
