Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon has been officially summoned to appear before the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry on 19th of May 2025.
The Committee, which is investigating allegations of gross abuse of power against the IGP, has held multiple sessions at the Parliament premises in recent weeks.
This will be the first time Tennakoon has been formally called to participate in the proceedings.
The Committee was established to investigate and report on alleged misconduct by the IGP, and Tennakoon’s appearance is expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing inquiry.
