Household income and expenditure survey underway

The Department of Census and Statistics has officially launched the Household Income and Expenditure Survey.

Director General Anoja Seneviratne explained that the survey aims to analyze the consumption patterns of households throughout the country.

A representative sample of 25,000 households from all regions of the island will be surveyed to ensure a comprehensive overview.

The data gathered will help inform government policies and provide insights into economic trends.

The survey will cover various aspects of household spending and income, offering valuable information for policymakers and researchers.

This initiative is expected to contribute to better planning and resource allocation across the country.
