As Christmas approaches and holiday spending increases, many Australians are wondering when they’ll receive or need to report for their December Centrelink payments. Here’s everything you need to know.
Centrelink Holiday Shutdown Dates.
Centrelink will be closed from 25th to 27th of December and on 1st of January.
Regular payments and reporting will resume on 2nd of January 2025.
Changes have been made to allowance reporting and payments.
Payment and reporting dates have been adjusted for those receiving allowance payments, such as Jobseeker, Austudy, Youth Allowance, Farm Household Allowance, Special Benefit, and Status Resolution Support Services Payments. Reporting and payment dates will depend on when a person is scheduled to report their circumstances.
For instance, if your regular reporting date is 20th of December, your new reporting date will be December 19. Your revised payment date will be 20th of December, and your next payment after that will be on 6th of January.

If your Centrelink online account is linked to myGov, you can easily report your income and check your reporting dates for the next 12 weeks online.

Changes to reporting and payment dates will also impact those on family payments, ABSTUDY, Age Pension, Assistance for Isolated Children, Carer Allowance, Carer Payment, Disability Support Pension, Double Orphan Pension, Parenting Payment, and Pensioner Education Supplement.
