
Marc-André Franche, UN Resident Representative to Sri Lanka, pledged continued technical and financial support for the country’s development.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.
Franche highlighted the strong partnership between the UN, the government, and the people of Sri Lanka.
He acknowledged the challenges faced by the government following its large public mandate and high expectations.
Franche praised Sri Lanka’s collaboration with the IMF to address economic and health challenges.
He expressed support for initiatives promoting national unity and sustainable peace.
Minister Jayatissa thanked the UN for its collaboration and emphasized the importance of the partnership.
UN representatives from WFP, UNDP, and UNICEF also participated in the discussions.
