Harsha de Silva, MP of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), has rejected speculation that he is preparing to join the government.
In a video statement, Dr. de Silva said attempts were being made to misinterpret his political conduct and create unnecessary rumours regarding his political future.
He stated that while he viewed it positively that the government considered him someone worth engaging with, his political approach has always remained independent and guided by speaking out on issues he believes are right or wrong.
Dr. de Silva further said that certain individuals appeared uncomfortable with the way he has functioned as Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Finance.
