Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Dr. Harsha de Silva stated that he had no prior knowledge of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa’s recent visit to India.
Speaking on a talk show, Dr. de Silva said he was unaware of any details regarding the visit or whether it had been made on an official invitation from the Indian government. He noted that media reports had described it as an official visit.
When journalists highlighted that a visit of such diplomatic significance would typically involve key figures such as a prospective Finance Minister, Prime Minister, or a member responsible for reconciliation in a future government, Dr. de Silva said he would refrain from commenting further due to his lack of information.
He also added that even after returning from India, Sajith Premadasa had not briefed the party on the purpose or outcomes of the visit.
