A group of 200 Indian tourists has safely evacuated the United Arab Emirates after becoming stranded when war-related airspace disruptions halted flights.
The tour, organised by Yogi Overseas, was initially planned as a visit to the country’s Hindu temples. However, the outbreak of conflict led to widespread airspace restrictions, leaving the large group waiting for several days without confirmed flights.
“Our first priority was to ensure that none of the passengers felt panic or discomfort,” said Kaushal Damesha, head of the tour company. Damesha and several tour guides remained behind in Dubai to coordinate arrangements while ensuring the safe departure of the travellers.
The group included senior citizens and children, making the situation more challenging, Damesha noted. He added that the tour manager spent considerable time engaging with passengers, playing games and keeping spirits high during the uncertainty.
After requesting available flights from the UAE to various destinations across India, the final members of the tour group were picked up today and are now on their way home.
