Legendary Australian footballer Peter Bosustow passed away this morning after a long battle with cancer. He was 67 years old at the time of his death.
Bosustow had previously overcome bowel and liver cancer in 2023 but was diagnosed with the disease again later. His daughter, Brooke Warren, shared updates about his condition on Facebook, revealing he had undergone more than 60 rounds of chemotherapy. He was hospitalized earlier this month and spent his final moments with his wife Shelley, son Brent, and daughter Brooke by his side.
Bosustow had an illustrious career, winning the 1981–82 Premiership with Carlton. He scored 146 goals in 65 games for Carlton and 379 goals in 141 games for Perth in the WAFL. In his debut season with Carlton in 1981, he remarkably won the Premiership, Goal of the Year, and Mark of the Year awards.
