The Ministry of Digital Economy has reported that nearly Rs. 800 million in digital payments have been processed through the GovPay application over a period of seven months.
To date, a total of 38,378 transactions have been completed via the platform, involving 184 institutions.
The GovPay initiative, launched in February 2025 under the leadership of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, is jointly implemented by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) and the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA).
