Physiologists are urging the federal government to create a fund to support Australians with chronic conditions, proposing the introduction of a “healthy living” voucher.
Olympic gold medalist Duncan Armstrong is advocating for a $400 Healthy Living Voucher, which would allow sick Australians to consult with a physiotherapist.
Armstrong, who is also Australia’s director-general of exercise and sports science, believes the vouchers could benefit millions of people across the country.
He further stated that consulting with a fitness professional could help increase life expectancy and reduce hospital visits for Australians with chronic conditions.
