Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said today that the government appears to have adopted his party’s concept of encouraging the wealthy to contribute towards the development of the health sector.
He stated that an announcement made by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Friday confirms that the government has embraced a proposal previously introduced and implemented by his party.
Premadasa made these remarks after donating medical equipment to the Aranayake Hospital.
On Friday, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said the government plans to introduce structured assistance packages, enabling donors to come forward and support national development efforts, particularly in rebuilding the country following the recent cyclone disaster.
