The government has begun discussions with state and private sector stakeholders to strengthen Sri Lanka’s dairy industry, with the goal of meeting domestic milk demand and exploring export potential.

A meeting chaired by the Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development focused on strategies to support dairy farmers, attract new entrepreneurs to the sector, and improve marketing channels for dairy products.
Institutions including the Industrial Development Board, Export Development Board, Small Enterprises Division, and the National Enterprise Development Authority will play key roles in implementing these initiatives.
