The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has announced the official programme for the 2026 Vesak Festival.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has declared Vesak Week from May 27 to June 2.
The Ministry stated that arrangements are underway to celebrate Vesak in a grand and meaningful manner across the country.
The celebrations will be conducted under the guidance of the All Ceylon Shasanarakshaka Mandalaya, in collaboration with the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, and the Department of Buddhist Affairs.
