Google has announced a range of major upgrades for Android smartphones, introducing new artificial intelligence tools, smarter automation features, and improvements to Android Auto and device connectivity.

The new features were revealed during Google’s “Android Show” ahead of its annual Google I/O developer conference.
One of the key announcements was “Gemini Intelligence,” Google’s new AI-powered Android system designed to automate tasks such as filling out forms, assisting with shopping, and managing applications more efficiently.
According to Google, the AI upgrades will also enable customised widgets, smarter voice typing, and improved connectivity between multiple devices.
The company also introduced upgrades to Android Auto, including enhanced 3D Google Maps navigation, expanded entertainment features, and deeper integration of Gemini AI within vehicles.
Additional improvements include new Android interface features, expanded file-sharing capabilities, better screen-time management tools, and AI-powered functions integrated into Google Chrome on Android devices.
While many of the features are expected to be released as free Android software updates, Google indicated that some advanced AI capabilities may only be available on newer premium devices such as upcoming Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy models.
