With an aim to promote road safety during the festive season, a rideshare company has started a new service called DiDi.
Called DiDi Tow, the service allows customers to book a tow truck through the DiDi app to get them and their car home safely if they’ve been drinking.
The aim is to reduce road accidents caused by drunk drivers.
Christmas is the busiest time of year on Australian highways.
It has also been mentioned that this service will be able to control this situation in the future.
The new Didi service will be launched primarily in Victoria, giving drivers the ability to quickly access Didi services in Melbourne, particularly on weekends.
It is also reported that through DiDi Tow, the vehicle owner as well as the vehicle will be brought to the respective places very safely in a truck.
DiDi’s head of external affairs, Dan Jordan, noted that this is a new process to reduce drunk driving and make driving safer across the country.
