
Gold prices in Sri Lanka have increased following a sharp rise in global market prices. As of yesterday (01), the international price of gold has climbed by USD 4,238, prompting a corresponding increase in local rates.
In Sri Lanka, gold prices have risen by Rs. 5,500 compared to November 25, 2025. Notably, prices have jumped by Rs. 2,000 within just today.
In the Colombo Pettah gold market, the price of a 22-carat gold sovereign has reached Rs. 314,700. Meanwhile, the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign, which stood at Rs. 336,000 on 25th of November has risen to Rs. 342,000, according to traders.
