The Global Sri Lankan Forum has called on President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to take urgent action regarding the health condition and legal rights of former State Intelligence Service Director Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay.

In a letter to the President, the forum requested that investigations involving Major General Sallay be handled through a transparent judicial process rather than prolonged administrative detention.
The organisation expressed concern over his deteriorating health and urged authorities to ensure he receives uninterrupted access to proper medical care and protection while in custody.
The forum stated that every person should have access to due legal procedures and called for his case to be expedited according to the rule of law.
Major General Sallay, a former head of the State Intelligence Service, is being investigated in connection with the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks and is currently receiving medical treatment.
The Global Sri Lankan Forum said justice and accountability must be pursued while also ensuring human rights and fair legal standards are protected.
