A German woman has been arrested by Cinnamon Gardens Police after an unattended laptop left near the Russian Embassy in Colombo triggered a suspected bomb threat.
The discovery of the device raised immediate security concerns, leading to the woman’s detention for questioning.
Police questioned her for over five hours with the assistance of an interpreter; however, she reportedly refused to disclose the laptop’s password, obstructing efforts to inspect its contents.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the woman had allegedly arranged travel plans to China, further intensifying suspicions surrounding her intentions.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
