The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court was informed yesterday (19th) that the controversial substandard immunoglobulin vials, which sparked nationwide concern, were found to contain harmful and highly dangerous types of bacteria and salts unsafe for human use.
Deputy Solicitor General Lakmali Girihagama revealed this during court proceedings related to the importation of these vials, in which former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and several senior health ministry officials have been named as suspects.
Furthermore, the Attorney General’s Department informed the court that investigations into the incident have now been completed.
