French Naval ship ‘Beautemps-Beaupré’ arrives at Colombo port for official visit

The French Navy Ship Beautemps-Beaupré arrived at the Port of Colombo today (09th of May 2025) on a goodwill visit, the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) announced.

The visiting vessel was welcomed in accordance with long-standing naval traditions.

The Beautemps-Beaupré is an 80.65-meter-long hydrographic survey vessel, commanded by Commander Bertheau Dimitri and crewed by 58 personnel, according to the SLN.

As part of the visit, the ship’s Commanding Officer and several crew members are scheduled to meet with senior officials of the Sri Lanka National Hydrographic Office (SLNHO) to discuss hydrographic cooperation and other matters of mutual interest.

During their stay, the crew will also have the opportunity to visit several tourist attractions across Sri Lanka.

The Beautemps-Beaupré is expected to depart from Colombo on 13th of May.
