Four individuals charged in Brownlow Medal betting investigation

Four Melbourne men are set to face court next month over alleged betting on the AFL’s prestigious Brownlow Medal.

Detectives revealed that the men were charged yesterday in connection with suspicious gambling related to the 2021 and 2022 Brownlow Medal awards.

The accused include a 34-year-old from Glenroy, a 32-year-old from Doreen, a 31-year-old from Hadfield, and a 35-year-old from Reservoir, all facing multiple charges, including cheating at gambling and corrupt conduct.

Police carried out several search warrants across different Melbourne suburbs during the investigation.

The four men are scheduled to appear in court on 11th of September , with the maximum penalty for such offences being 10 years in prison.
