Four suspects have been arrested with 26.770 kilograms of cannabis during a police raid carried out in the Pahanakaduwa area within the Udawalawa Police Division.

Police said the operation was conducted yesterday (28) by officers attached to the Embilipitiya Division Crime Investigation Unit following a tip-off.

The suspects are also suspected to have links to several cattle theft incidents reported in the area.

The arrested individuals are residents of Pallebedda and Thanamalwila and are aged 26, 31, 37 and 46.

They were taken into custody and handed over to the Udawalawa Police Station for further legal action.

Udawalawa Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
