The Sri Lanka Cricket Board has fined former national captain Dasun Shanaka $10,000 for breaching contract terms.
Shanaka, who was representing SSC Sports Club in the Major League domestic tournament, withdrew from a match at Moors Sports Club on 2nd of February after the first two days. He cited a sprain and was advised to rest for three days.
However, that same evening, he traveled to the UAE to play in the ILT20 tournament, representing the Dubai Capitals. This violation led Sri Lanka Cricket to impose the fine, requiring Shanaka to pay the full amount by 28th of February .
