David Beckham has been knighted by King Charles during an investiture ceremony held at Windsor Castle yesterday.
The 50-year-old former England football captain received the honour in recognition of his outstanding contributions to sport and his extensive charitable work.
Beckham attended the ceremony wearing a bespoke morning suit designed by his wife, Victoria Beckham, who was also present alongside his parents, Sandra and Ted. This marks the first time Beckham’s parents have attended a royal investiture ceremony.
Victoria, 51, who received her own OBE in 2017, joined her husband and in-laws for the proud occasion. Sandra Beckham honoured the family by wearing a dress from her daughter-in-law’s fashion label.
When Beckham was awarded his OBE in 2003, he chose to be accompanied by his maternal grandparents, Joe and Peggy, both of whom have since passed away. A family friend noted that “David’s mum and dad didn’t go before, as he knew just how much it would mean to his grandparents.”
The knighthood represents the latest milestone in Beckham’s remarkable career, celebrating his enduring influence both on and off the football field.
