Former All Blacks 7s assistant coach named head coach of SL Rugby

Rodney Gibbs, former assistant coach of the New Zealand All Blacks Sevens, has been appointed Head Coach of the Sri Lankan national rugby team.

He will officially assume duties on 26th of May and will remain in the position until the conclusion of the Asian Rugby Top 4 tournament.

Gibbs brings extensive coaching experience, having previously led teams such as the Black Ferns Probables and the New Zealand Barbarians.

Under his guidance, Sri Lanka will compete in the Asia Rugby Emirates Men’s Championship, facing off against South Korea, Hong Kong China, and the UAE.

Sri Lanka’s campaign kicks off at home on 14th of June against South Korea, followed by an away match against Hong Kong China on 22nd of June and a final home match against the UAE on 4th of July.
