
Andrew Krakouer, a popular player for Richmond and Collingwood in the Australian Football League, has died today.
He was 42 years old at the time of his death.
Krakouer died of a heart attack in Perth, his relatives say.
He was a talented player who scored 152 goals in 137 games and won the love of fans by becoming the Australian icon in 2011.
His former coach Nathan Buckley has expressed his sadness at his death and said that Krakouer showed true courage throughout his career.
It is also reported that former AFL player Andrew Krakouer was previously imprisoned for about a year on assault charges.
