Foreign nationals must obtain ETA before traveling to Sri Lanka

All foreign nationals eligible for a free tourist visa are now required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before arriving in Sri Lanka. This new regulation will come into effect tomorrow, 15th of October .

Meanwhile, the United States of America has updated its travel advisory for Sri Lanka. The U.S. Department of State issued the advisory at Level 2, highlighting several new cautionary measures.

The advisory urges travelers to exercise increased caution due to risks including unrest, terrorism, and landmines, emphasizing the need to remain aware of potential instability in the country.
