The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism has officially launched its revamped website along with a newly introduced Common Website Platform for Sri Lanka Missions and Posts Abroad at a ceremony held on May 18, 2026.

The event was attended by Foreign Affairs Minister Vijitha Herath, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Arun Hemachandra, Deputy Tourism Minister Ruwan Ranasinghe, senior ministry officials, representatives of government institutions, and heads of Sri Lankan missions abroad who joined virtually.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Herath said digital transformation is not only about introducing new technology but also about improving public service delivery through greater efficiency, accessibility, transparency, and accountability.
He further stated that the new platform would strengthen Sri Lanka’s digital engagement with citizens, overseas Sri Lankan communities, foreign partners, investors, tourists, and the wider international community.
As part of the first phase of the Common Website Platform project, seven Sri Lankan missions abroad, including those in Bucharest, Malé, New Delhi, Brasilia, Wellington, The Hague, and Cairo, have been integrated into the unified digital platform.
The ministry said the project will continue to expand in phases with the aim of bringing all Sri Lankan missions abroad under a single standardized digital platform in the near future.
The initiative was jointly carried out by several divisions of the ministry together with the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team, the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Digital Economy, and technical partner Frontwalker (Pvt) Ltd.
According to the ministry, the newly launched platform has been designed with a strong focus on security, reliability, accessibility, and user-friendliness, marking a significant step in the government’s broader digital transformation agenda.
