The final report into the disappearance of US$2.5 million from the Treasury is expected to be tabled in Parliament in the coming weeks, according to Chair of the Committee on Public Finance, MP Harsha de Silva.

He said the report has been prepared using submissions provided by the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) regarding the incident.
The draft report has already been circulated among members of the Committee on Public Finance for their observations and feedback.
Harsha de Silva said the committee held three rounds of discussions with Treasury and Central Bank officials and examined separate reports submitted by the two institutions, noting that the Central Bank disagreed with several findings in the Treasury’s report.
He said the committee analysed both reports before preparing a draft, which will be finalised after members submit their comments at the committee meeting scheduled for next Tuesday.
Once approved, the final report is expected to be presented to Parliament the following week. Harsha de Silva stressed that the document will reflect the collective views of the committee following a comprehensive review and consensus among its members.
