
A man has been charged after attempting to open the emergency exit door of a flight en route to Sydney.
The incident occurred on a flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which landed in Sydney, Australia, yesterday ( 5th of April ).
The suspect, a 46-year-old Jordanian national, allegedly tried to open the door mid-flight, prompting swift intervention by the flight crew.
During the incident, he reportedly assaulted a crew member who tried to stop him.
The man is scheduled to appear before the Parramatta Magistrates’ Court today ( 6th of April ).
Authorities have stated that such an offense carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
