In the Best Western category, improved BOPs gained Rs.50 per kg, with select invoices rising up to Rs.100 per kg, while others varied based on quality. BOPFs increased by Rs.100 per kg or more for select invoices, while others remained irregular. Below Best BOP/BOPFs also appreciated by Rs.50 per kg or more for select invoices. Clean leaf teas at the lower end held firm, but poor leaf types were neglected.
Nuwara Eliya BOP/BOPFs sold well at firm to higher prices, with BOPFs gaining Rs.50-100 per kg. Uva/Uda Pussellawa BOPs remained firm, while Uda Pussellawa BOPFs were barely steady. Clean leaf Uva BOPFs saw slight gains, but poorer types were irregular. Clean leaf teas commanded a premium of Rs.100-150 per kg over lower-quality varieties.
