Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (11th of June) to provide a statement in connection with an ongoing investigation.
The investigation stems from a complaint lodged by former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella concerning the alleged importation of substandard human immunoglobulin vaccines.
Rambukwella had earlier filed the complaint with the CID, requesting a probe into the broader issue of medicine imports into the country.
Several former government ministers have already given statements to the CID as part of this investigation.
