Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s Chief Security Officer, Neville Wanniarachchi, has been arrested.
Police sources said that Wanniarachchi had previously been summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in December last year to provide a statement regarding an investigation into the accumulation of illicit assets.
The arrest comes as part of the ongoing probe into alleged undisclosed wealth and questionable financial dealings.
