China’s decision to extend visa-free travel for Russian citizens until the end of 2027 has been welcomed by business leaders from both countries, who believe the move will further strengthen trade, tourism and economic cooperation.

Speaking at the 10th China-Russia Expo held in Harbin, officials and business representatives said the policy has already helped boost business exchanges, company partnerships and cross-border travel between the two nations.
Nearly 300 Russian firms participated in the expo, while Chinese companies also showed growing interest in Russian products and services.
The visa-free policy has additionally contributed to a sharp rise in tourism and travel through border ports in Heilongjiang Province.
Russian officials revealed that around 3.3 million Chinese tourists visited Russia in 2025, highlighting the increasing people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
Both sides expressed confidence that the policy would further strengthen cooperation in sectors such as business, logistics, tourism and infrastructure development.
