Police Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manathunga stated that the Acting IGP has instructed senior officers and OICs to make necessary security arrangements.
Over 6,500 officers have been deployed in the Western Province alone to maintain order and safety.
Reports indicate that more than 2,000 churches across the country are set to hold Christmas masses.
These measures aim to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for the public during the celebrations.
