The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has partnered with Elon Musk’s Starlink service to help efficiently deliver the results of the upcoming federal election.
Starlink, owned by the world’s richest person, will serve as a backup in case of issues with the NBN network.
Reports indicate that the AEC has awarded a $1.38 million contract to Telstra and Starlink for this initiative.
The contract, signed last October, will remain valid until mid-2027.
This collaboration is expected to ensure that Australians receive election results quickly and reliably.
