Elon Musk, owner of Tesla and one of the world’s richest individuals, has submitted a bid to acquire the social media platform TikTok.
Other notable bidders include YouTube star “Mr. Beast” (Jim Donelson) and Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison.
Although TikTok recently faced a potential ban in the United States, President Donald Trump has granted the platform a 75-day extension to continue operations in the country.
Bloomberg reports that China is considering selling TikTok to Elon Musk, though Musk has called for addressing the lack of access to his X social media network in China as part of the deal.
President Trump has expressed interest in TikTok’s acquisition, stating he supports Musk or Ellison purchasing the platform.
