A program to clean the Beira Lake using electric boats has been officially launched.
According to the Western Province Governor’s Media Unit, the initiative will use solar-powered electric boats capable of removing up to 3,000 kilograms of waste per day.
The project, introduced as a pilot program, is expected to expand in the future with the deployment of four boats. Its objectives include improving the water quality of Beira Lake, restoring the ecosystem, enhancing the area’s scenic beauty, and protecting community health.
